Wedal Woods

The Story

This was from a walk out into the woods after a snowfall. It's a route down one of the ridges to a favorite spot overlooking the creek. As of Dec. 30 2025 it was still open and even in the cold of winter, it's SO lovely to hear the sound of the creek! The branches all caked with fluffy snow is just gorgeous, as is the quiet of the woods.
The Creek in Winter
The woods don't disappoint! Change is here. Cooler temps, watching leaves turn and fall, seeing birds cache for winter. The turkeys are returning, deer are everywhere, and as soon as our resident bear gets down to its seasonal naptime, we can get some feeders back up to help our feathered friends fare the winter.
October 2025 Fall
A warm Fall day, the perfect time to take a break and walk into the woods for a sweet view of the creek.

September 25, 2025
Giving you the real picture of an authentically tired person after shoveling and tamping gravel for a few hours. Thankfully the scenery is perfect for taking breaks!

An update from the Two Oaks Pod Site at Wedal Woods! We're SO close to opening, stay tuned!
Front deck and view
In my excitement I had my phone tipped the wrong way, but at least we caught the big moment of the first truck coming up the road. What an exciting day!
Pods arriving!
A moment of anticipation as we await the arrival of the Pods! An exciting day!
Pods on the way
The second privy floor! We're building these two outhouses to be nice. They are conveniently located close to the Pods, and will be spacious, comfortable, and easy...important considerations when you're staying in the woods!
Privy floor #2
Check out the concrete floor for the first privy, thanks to Kramolis Concrete! It may not look like much, but it's an important upgrade to make our outhouses nicer!
Privy floor #1
When you've been backfilling and tamping, are tired and being eaten by mosquitoes, you say things like "square feel" instead of "linear feet". Oh well...it was a lot!
Trench Part 2
Sweaty and tired! Digging and trenching by hand is work. So are making dreams reality. Keep on digging!
Trench Part 1
It’s good to (regularly) take a moment to look and listen.
Trees and birds July 2025
Deer tracks after the rain! Wildlife is everywhere here, and it's nice to know it's close even when you don't always get to see it firsthand. We love living among the trees and coexisting with all the creatures who also call this place home.

Kind of fun to see what privy vaults look like before they're buried and become outhouses! They'll be nice, promise!
Privy vaults are here!
A two minute video walking through the four sites of Wedal Woods, where Pods will arrive in August 2025.

Our friends at JetPack Stickers set us up with our first shwag. Check them out...they truly are the best stickers in the universe!
Goodies from JetPack Stickers!
April 2025 just as things were melting, we found some run-off over a log that made a sweet (albeit temporary) little waterfall.
April 2025 - wee waterfall
Sometimes the best view is from in the creek. This was a relatively warm day at the end of March during a walk around the property. Spring was around the corner!
March 2025 Spring melt
It's so pretty here along the creek, even when it's cold and the trees are still brown.

A quick view of some of the last colors of Fall. There’s so many tree species at Wedal Woods, and the maples never disappoint.
